4. Scanning protocol
a. Patient will void bladder before coming back for scan
b. Patient will receive radiotracer intravenously and placed under camera
c. Patient will lay supine with head facing out on the imaging table, with area of interest under camera.
d. Technologist will start the dynamic images
i. If the patient is unable to cooperate for the dynamic imaging, static imaging is completed up to one hour
e. After dynamic images, take a right lateral static image
f. If gallbladder and small bowel are visualized the exam is completed, if the gall bladder and small bowel not visualized, take delayed static images at 90 minutes and 120 minutes post injection.
g. At two hours post injection, the gallbladder has not visualized but small bowel has the exam is completed. If at two hours post injection, the gall bladder and small bowl not visualized, a delayed static images of anterior and right lateral that is taken at 4 hours post injection
h. Continued delayed imaging is at the discretion of the radiologist
